Your comments suggest that we are wrong to work to address our students’ challenges unless we first address our own. I disagree with that. I also think that this approach of saying “what about us” greatly limits the potential to gain supporters in the movement to help adjuncts.

I have worked on labor issues and supported efforts to improve the treatment of faculty for years. But my concerns about the lack of progress in that area will not and should not hinder my efforts for students.

And assuming ignorance on my part of those of my readers is incorrect and unhelpful too.
